The Concepts CLEVER COMMUTE (Scooter) and DYNAMIC CARGO (E-Bike) were designed to showcase a greater range of product possibilities in the BMW line-up. It was also designed to license the technology unique to each design to potential partners. In the case of the scooter, it was the folding mechanism for the rear wheel in order to fit within a car. In the E-Bikes case, it was the tilt mechanism that allowed the bike to turn better than a rigid tricycle. The successful implementation of the E-Bike can been seen here with the CUBE bicycles concept.

Year: 2019

Designed at BMW Designworks Munich

There were many views on what the design should be. From carbon to aluminum to stamped steel. The choice of aluminum was selected and thus the forms followed this shaping. I used my knowledge of bicycle manufacturing to show this clearly in the design process.
